STUDY OF AXIAL CAPACITY OF BRICK MASONRY WALLS

【Abstract】

<正>To facilitate numerical analysis of responses of brick masonry walls under blast, ballistic and impact loading conditions,the axial capacity of virgin brick masonry walls is examined in this paper.Walls of various thickness and height are considered.It was found that axial(i.e.,in-plane) wall capacity is determined by the strength of brick.In addition,the axial capacity varies dramatically as the height thickness ratio changes drastically.An empirical relationship for the axial capacity of walls was derived.
