<正>In some brittle and quasi-brittle materials such as ceramic, concrete, rock, cast iron etc,the existence of a large number of initial micro-cracks is the principal source of failure while they are loaded. The formation of main macro-cracks by the growth and the coalescence of micro-cracks is one of the major fracture mechanisms of this class of materials.
