Thermodynamical framework for higher grade material theories including damage and plasticity

【Abstract】

<正>The objective of the present work is to develop a thermomechanical framework, taking into account the influence of strain gradient,temperature gradient,damage parameters and plasticity on the constitutive behavior of materials.In particular the restrictions by the second law of thermodynamics are derived.The method of exploitation consists of two steps:an application of the well-known method by Liu and a new method of exploiting the residual inequality.Applying the Liu-method,the question arises,which differential equations have to be taken into account in the exploitation.On one hand we have the equations for damage parameter(s) and/or plasticity.On the other hand,in higher grade material theories,also the gradients of balance equations can be relevant.Taking into account these differentiated balance equations,too, leads to less severe restrictions on constitutive functions,than the exploitation without the differentiated equations.
