【Abstract】

<正>Turbulent diapycnal mixing is a key process for ocean/climate interactions, as it controls the meridional overturning and heat transport, yet its physics remains poorly understood.Over the past decade,it has been suggested that energetics could provide useful constraints on the issue.This led to the idea that 0(2TW) of mechanical power input is required to sustain the turbulent mixing rate in equilibrium with the observed deep water formation rate.
