<正>The properties of cement based materials at ultra low temperature are quite different from those at room temperature or at low temperature.The compressive strength, flexural strength,relative dynamic elastic modulus and the relative mass loss of ordinary mortars,high strength mortars and ordinary air-entraining mortars were measured.The influence of degree of saturation,water to cement ratio and air-entraining agent on frost resistance of mortars by freeze-thaw cycles at ultra low temperature-room temperature(-110℃～20℃) were investigated.The results show that the effects of these factors mentioned above at cyclic ultra low temperature-room temperature are similar to that at low temperature-room temperature(-20℃～20℃) variation The range oftemperature variation has a great influence on frost resistance of mortars as well as the other factors as the effect of air-entraining agent on frost resistance can be weak when the temperature circulates in a great extent. Originality The effects of freeze-thaw on properties of concrete have been studied by a lot of researchers,however only few studies has been found on the effects of ultra low temperature cycles on properties of concrete.The effects offreeze-thaw cycles at ultra low temperature on properties of concrete has been studied in this paper by comparing it with those of normal freeze-thaw cycles,from which some conclusions has been drawn The present work is of great significance for further study on concrete performance at ultra low temperature.
