Discipline integration promoting the comprehensive research level of Geography

【Abstract】

Geography is a science specializing in the study of the interaction between natural and human elements on the terrestrial surface system and their space and time regular patterns. In order to promote the development of the earth system science and coordinate man-land relationship, geographers may make contributions to research fields such as a comprehensive study on the spatial patterns and processes of the terrestrial surface system, global environmental change and its regional responses, utilization of natural resources and prevention of natural hazards, environmental remediation and control, ecological conservation and nature conservation, mechanism of man-land relationship and sustainable regional development, and research on Geo-information Science. We should strengthen discipline integration, open up and bring forth new ideas, make positive contributions to promoting the level of comprehensive research of Geography, as well as for a glorious future of the homeland earth.
