【Abstract】

This paper presents a three dimensional finite element analyses for axial surface cracks in elbows subjected to internal pressure load. For the elastic case, the numerical results allowed determination of shape functions. The results are in a good agreement with those in the literature. For the elastic-plastic, the effect of the ratio R/t and a/t becomes sensible for evaluated the J integral
