Electric propulsion Effects on DC Zonal Electrical Distribution System Stability

【Abstract】

For future all-electric ship, DC-Zonal Electrical Distribution has been paid more attention because of its unique advantages. In order to explore the influence of Electric propulsion on DC Zonal Electrical Distribution System (DC-ZED) in ship power management system (SPMS), a model of DC-ZED was constructed by using matlab/simulink. The models of the components are designed as multi-terminal blocks including the power converter modules and required enclosures. The simulation confirm the theoretical analysis of before. We find it makes influence of the Stability of DC bus voltage. This influence is different because of different spare power of the system, hierarchical way, or accelerating rate. This conclusion provides theoretical basis for how to make the fastest way to promote the propulsion load in the stability range.
