Study on the Radiation Property of a Waist-shaped Communication Antenna By NFDTD Algorithm

In this paper, a new type of aircraft communication antenna with special structure—waist-shaped antenna is present. The nonorthogonal FDTD (NFDTD) algorithm is adopted to analyze the antenna and good agreement between the results by NFDTD computation and measurements is seen. Furthermore, the obtained radiation property of the antenna is discussed. With this antenna, the continuous communication is ensured during the aircraft maneuver flight.
