【Abstract】

<正>Voltage-activated Ca2+ channels are important for the contractile activity of cardiomyocytes and smooth muscle cells. In these cells, L-type Ca2+ channels are composed of the pore-forming Cav1.2 subunit and the accessory subunits Cavβ and Cavα2β. Targeting of the Cavβ2 gene in mice by homologous recombination leads to a significant reduction of L-type Ca2+ currents in embryonic cardiac myocytes as early as embryonic day (E) 9.5. Concomitantly, membrane depolarisation-induced changes of intracellular Ca2+ concentrations are reduced by about 80%
