【Abstract】

<正>Perivascular sympathetic nerves of small arteries release nprepinephrine (NE), ATP and neurppeptide Y (NPY). During trains of sympathetic nerve activity, ATP activates a fast and transient component of arterial contraction, while NE activates a slower, but maintained contraction. Our premise is that the characteristic actions of the three neurotransmitters result from distinct pre- and post-junctional mechanisms of transmitter release and effects.
