【Abstract】

<正>Knowledge of insulin in cardiovascular health and disease has grown dramatically over the past decade. Insulin resistance has been found to be the "common soil" of major cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension, coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes, suggesting that insulin signal is essential for normal cardiovascular functioning. Recent studies from our laboratory and others have suggested that insulin not only is critical in maintaining glucose homeostasis but also may have the unique property of anti-apoptosis and protection for the ischemic heart against reperfusion injury.
