<正>In the present study,a new co-formulation,namely fentrazamide+propanil (LECSPRO WP 44) was evaluated for its efficiency in weed control and impact on growth and yield of wet-seeded rice together with the most widely used combination of herbicides,i.e.propanil at 7 days after sowing(DAS) followed by MCPA at 21 DAS. The herbicide formulation effectively controlled grasses,sedges and broadleaves when applied at the rate of 3 kg ha~(-1) at 7 and 12 DAS,which was equivalent to the commonly practiced propanil + MCPA treatment.A 25%higher rate also produced similar results, but the 25%lower rate resulted in poor weed control.The leaf area index(LAI) of rice at time of heading was the lowest in the un-weeded treatment(2.87) and highest in the weed-free treatment(5.06).The average LAI of rice in plots treated with the new herbicide formulation at the rates of 3 and 3.75 kg ha~(-1) was 4.89,but significantly low when applied at the rate of 2.25 kg ha~(-1).The dry weight also showed a similar trend.The yield of rice in the hand-weeded plots was 4.9 mt ha~(-1),plots treated with propanil + MCPA 4.51 mt ha~(-1) and plots treated with the fentrazamide+propanil formulation(3 kg ha~(-1) at 7 DAS) was 4.76 mt ha~(-1).The preliminary results indicated that the new herbicide formulation fentrazamide+propanil effectively controls weeds in wet-seeded rice fields and increase growth and yield of rice when compared to the combination of propanil + MCPA.
