【Abstract】

Objective: To study the chemical constituents of Miao herbal medicine Elsholtzia penduliflora. Methods: The chemical constituents of E. penduliflora were isolated by several column chromatographic techniques such as Sephadex LH-20, Lichroprep RP-18, MCI-gel, HPLC and others. Their structures were identified by spectrum techniques of NMR combined with references. Results: Eighteen compounds were isolated from E. penduliflora and identified as apigenin (1), (3 R,5 S,6 E,8 S,10 E)-3,7,11-trimethyl-1,6,10-dodecatriene-3,5,8-triol (2), dibutylphthalate (3), p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid methyl ester (4), methyl ( R)-3-hydroxy-5-phenyl pentanoate (5), methyl 2- O-feruloyl-3-(3′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)lactate (6), methyl isoferuloyl-7-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)lactate (7), caffeic acid methyl ester (8), trans- p-hydroxycinnamic acid (9), protocatechualdehyde (10), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (11), 2,6-dihydroxy-2,4-dimethyl-3(2H)-benzofuranone (12), 4-hydroxyphenethyl alcohol (13), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl glycol (14), 2-(3′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)-1,3-benzodioxole-5-aldehyde (15), 4-acetonyl-3,5-dimerhoxy- p-quinol (16), ( E)-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methyl-2-butenyl)-hydroquinone (17), (1′ R)-1′-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)propan-1′-ol 4- O- β- D-glucopyranoside (18). Conclusion: All compounds are isolated from this plant for the first time.
