【Abstract】

Objective: To investigate the phenolic constituents from the roots of Artocarpus heterophyllus. Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated from the roots of A. heterophyllus by ODS column chromatography, MCI CHP-20P column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography. Their structures were identified based on the physical and chemical properties as well as NMR and MS spectrum data. Results: Ten phenolic compounds containing isopentenyl substituents were isolated from the ethanol extract of the root of A. heterophyllus and identified as cudrastilbene (1), artocarbene (2), 3′,5′,2,4-tetrahydroxy-4-(3-methyl-2-butenyl)stilbene (3), demethylmoracin Ⅰ (4), moracin C (5), artoindonesianin B-1 (6), wittifuran W (7), 5′-hydroxycudraflavone A (8), artochamin B(9), and 8-( γ, γ-dimethylallyl)-5,2′,4′-trihydroxy-7-methoxyflavone (10). Conclusion: Compounds 1, 4, 5, and 7 are isolated from the Artocarpus genus for the first time, and compounds 6, 8, and 9 are isolated from the plant for the first time.
